Work History:
2003 - Present Bryant Labs Consultant
Bryant Labs is my consulting company. Since 2003, I have completed projects for several clients, all across the country. List of clients available upon request.
1999 - Present Motion Research, Inc. Consultant
I have been the principal hardware and firmware designer for Motion Research's Helmet Mounted Display products. The design uses TI's MSP430 family processor combined with Cypress Wireless USB chips to implement the 2.4 GHz spread spectrum wireless link. The product is designed for rugged use, very low power and weight, and high volume production.
1999 - 2003 Symmetricom, Inc., TT&M Division R&D Manager
For the last two years I managed the R&D department at Symmetricom. I lead a group of up to 35 people at two sites and a $4M budget. Our projects include standard products designed for volume manufacturing as well as one-of-a-kind products and complete systems for government contracts. In late 2002, I was a key part of harmonizing the TrueTime and Symmetricom Engineering efforts, including ISO-9000-2000 Procedures and Processes, as part of the merger of TrueTime, Datum, and Symmetricom
1989 – 1998 SeaMED Corporation Senior Electrical Engineer
As a Project Director, I was the principle customer liaison for the design and development of Medical products under contract to major medical companies in the US. Our customers included CR Bard, Johnson & Johnson, and US Surgical Corp. In addition to customer and vendor management, I was involved in all phases of the design, development, qualification, and manufacturing of Medical Devices. I also participated in the development of procedures to meet the requirements of the FDA and ISO-9000.
1988 - Present Image Logic Corp. Consultant
Image Logic makes a family of products for the video production industry. I have designed a number of closed caption encoder/decoders, VITC and LTC time code encoder/decoders, VCR controllers, and other accessories for them.
1987-1989 Rapid Systems Senior Electrical Engineer
Rapid Systems was a small manufacturer of PC based Digital Oscilloscopes and Spectrum analyzers. I designed a 2 channel, 12 bit, 1MHz system for them and was working on a 100MHz data acquisition "back end" system when I left.
1983-1987 Applied Microsystems Electrical Engineer
I worked on the design and development of several microprocessor emulators, including ones for the MC68000 and the i8086.
1982-1983 Fluke Test Engineer
I spent a brief time at Fluke working on their Hand Held multimeter lines, including the 8020 and 8024, providing sustaining engineering support.
1979-1982 Nicolet Paratronics Electrical Engineer
Paratronics made a family of Logic Analyzers. While there I designed waveform capture/display and counter/timer/signature analyzer option boards.
